# Gilles Dubuc > Gilles Dubuc is an artist living in the south of France who makes real-time generative artworks: software that generates each image live, by code. He learned to program in the late 1990s in the demoscene, worked for nearly twenty years on platforms for artists (inspi.re, deviantART), and from 2023 to 2026 was the CTO of Layer and co-created the Layer Canvas, a display for living generative art. Real-time generative artwork." ## Works - [Latent](https://gilles.dubuc.fr/latent/): Latent shows what a machine sees with its eyes closed: an untrained neural network running on its own currents, traced by a million grains of light. - [Morphogen](https://gilles.dubuc.fr/morphogen/): Morphogen is a living body that grows by its own rules: an alien tissue of thirty thousand simulated cells, growing under a microscope, drawn in grains of light. - [Nightglow](https://gilles.dubuc.fr/nightglow/): Nightglow shows the night side of a distant world, generated live by code: the weather of a young giant planet, simulated live, glowing in rings of light. ## Press - [Press kit](https://gilles.dubuc.fr/press/): texts, details, high-resolution images (lossless WebP and JPEG, in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1), one-minute videos of the variations, and the films to download. ## In the press - A New Canvas, a Narrower Frame: Inside Digital Art’s Luxury Makeover Whitehot Magazine, November 2026, by Ken Krantz.
